HVOlution: the biofuel driving change
In our company, we are increasingly choosing to use HVO, the first biofuel produced from 100% renewable raw materials.
An alternative that helps reduce CO2eq emissions calculated along the entire value chain, making mobility more sustainable.
Derived mainly from waste materials, vegetable residues, and a portion of vegetable oils, HVO can be used in next-generation diesel engines that are approved for its application.
Up to 7 new lives for every tire
Did you know that old tires can be reborn up to seven times? Starting from the structure of the entire casing, it is possible to generate a new tire — an industrial production approach aimed at eliminating waste.
Retreading, a perfect example of circular economy, has a minimal environmental impact compared to producing a brand-new tire. In particular, it reduces:
- CO2 emissions by 74%
- energy used in the production process by 70%
- air pollution by 55%
- raw material consumption (rubber, petroleum, steel, carbon black, and others) by 77%
- water consumption by 83% (AIRP data)
Estimates show that retreading reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 30% compared to the production of a new tire, while preserving about 70% of the original tire materials.
According to AIRP, the Italian Association of Tire Retreaders, Italy saves an average of 107 million liters of oil and more than 30,000 tons of other strategic raw materials each year, including natural and synthetic rubber, carbon black, textile fibers, steel, and copper.
